FAQ

BELOW ARE SOME OF THE QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED REGULARLY.  DON'T HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH IF YOUR ANSWER ISN'T HERE.

ARD

HOW DOES IT WORK?

After you have been in touch, we will have a discussion about your vision, the music you have created and your requirements. We will provide a quote, and upon acceptance and after making sure your music is ready, you will send them to us along with your reference tracks that we will use. We will mix the track in continual consultation with you and provide you with the finished stereo mix in the format of your choosing.

YOU SAY THERE ISN'T A LIMIT ON REVISIONS, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

As we will be in touch during the process, you will help us shape the mix as we do it. We dont lock ourselves away and give you whatever we come up with at the end. Therefore revisions are less necessary as you will have continual input during the process. As we mix analogue, once the mix is signed off, revisions aren't possible without investing in recall records. We can however leave mixes up until the next day to give some reflection time.

HOW DOES PRICING/QUOTES WORK?

We hate it when people treat songs like they're all the same. Every song needs a different approach, a different amount of time spent on it and different treatment. We will listen to your rough mix and discuss it with you. Typical costs are between £100 and £300 per track and take at least a day.

Mastering is a flat price of £20 per track.

DO YOU DO DISCOUNT FOR EPs OR ALBUMS?

Yes, when we create a quote, we take into consideration if there is a body of work, such as an album or EP.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Our turnaround is dependent on the work we currently have. Sometimes we can jump straight on it, sometimes we have a short waiting list and it may take a couple of weeks.

Once we start, a mix usually takes around a day.

A master can take around 2 hours and can usually be turned around quickly.

HOW DOES ANALOGUE STEMMING WORK?

Some people want to mix their own music, but know the tracking isnt good enough to achieve the results they wish to. We run each seperate through our equipment to maximise the sonic character of the track, in line with your vision. We then bounce those down and send you the separates to load into your DAW.

CAN I ATTEND THE MIX SESSIONS?

We're set up specifically to serve online, and can use Zoom video conferencing throughout our session to allow you to 'attend' the session.
